PROJECT
Make a Classic Woodworker's Mallet
ABOUT THIS CLASS
In this class, we're going to make a classic woodworkers mallet! In the first class we're going to mill rough lumber using multiple tools in the shop. You'll mark, measure, and cut, learning essential techniques in the shop to make flat and square lumber. You'll end the first day by gluing up multiple layers to create your turning blank. On day 2 you'll take your blank, learn how to mount it to the lathe and make your way through various turning tools to shape and carve the shape of your mallet. You'll add some oil, polish it up, and take it home! This beautiful mallet will always be in your toolbox that you can hand down to your kids one day. This is a great class for new woodworkers as well as those trying to hone their skills.
